Slayer by itself, using it's amps, sounds like crap and really fake, and turning the amp off and using Amplitube for the amp makes it sound a bit better, but it still sounds like crap. I often see people recommend to get that and run it through Amplitube. I've tried Slayer and this one was by far the worst and sounded the most like crap.
I often use a lot of down and/or dropped tunings on my guitar stuff, so it's a pain to have to write the MIDI guitar X semitones up and then transpose the whole thing after I get it in Reaper with Prominy, and I created new uh, I don't remember what it's called, basically where I had lower tunings, but they just sounded like crap (as I took the lowest one there, the low E, and copied it all the way down to the next C).
It's too much of a pain and impractical for me. So basically, I just plop my MIDI guitar track that I prewrote onto a new track in Reaper, then add the VST(s)/VSTi(s) and let it play like that.
#VIR2 ELECTRI6ITY VS REALLPC PRO#
I create my MIDI files using Guitar Pro 4.0. Now, I don't have a MIDI keyboard or synth at all. Line 6 Pod Farm (it's alright but, a lot of it I can't use as I don't have an actual POD or ASIO pedal, though I could emulate the ASIO pedal and use one of my virtual MIDI cable/routing programs to hook it up, but eh, I've not really played with it much either). Amplitube 3 (which I really like and currently am using)
